Patrick Maloney

Fostering Creative Disruption

Originating in Sacramento, Patrick came to SSU to play collegiate level tennis. After getting involved in a variety of leadership experiences he found a new love of student advocacy. As a Village Council President, Patrick ensured the programmatic success of his residential "village." He then went on to become President of the Residential Student Association where he drafted new funding proposals for the organization, oversaw fundraising, and improved recreational infrastructures.

Looking back at his first experience at SSU during Summer Orientation, Patrick wanted to give back to other incoming freshmen and became an orientation leader. He then became a team leader where he planned a summer long program of 1800 new student admitants. In the same role he led a team of 50 orientation leaders through 7 successful sessions. After being elected as the Statewide Issues Senator for the student run auxillary corporation the Associated Students, Patrick registered over 1000 students to vote and helped pass Prop 30 which prevented hundreds of millions of dollars in trigger cuts to Higher Ed. As a representative to the Califronia State Student Association, Patrick lobbied congresspeople in Sacramento on issues pivotal to the CSU system and it's students.

Noticing the entrepreneurial spirit of his fellow Seawolves, Patrick founded the student business and entrepreneurial thought incubator known as "Entreprenoma". With over 250 attendees at their landmark student product showcase "Market Day," Entreprenoma is poised to support innovation and entrepreneurial activity wherever it exists here in the North Bay.
