ZAP Jonway is a new automotive company combining ZAP’s 17 year experience in EV design with Jonway Auto’s volume manufacturing in China. ZAP Jonway supplies electric trucks and vans to the military, government and corporate fleets and is one of the early pioneers of electric motorcycles, scooters and ATVs. ZAP Jonway offers a product line of all-electric trucks, vans, sedans, and motorcycles in production today.
ZAP Jonway has delivered more than 117,000 of a broad range of EV designs, from bicycles, to scooters, motorcycles, ATVs, cars and trucks. The Alias electric car built in Santa Rosa placed in the top 7 out of 136 international competitors in the 2010 Automotive X PRIZE with the equivalent of 124 MPG. ZAP Jonway in 2010 was one of five companies selected to engineer a gas mail delivery vehicle to run on electricity for the United States Postal Service. ZAP Jonway is the first foreign owned enterprise in history to take majority ownership in a Chinese auto factory.
The electric vehicle industry is continually challenged by the status quo which continues to support the use and ownership of gas-powered vehicles.
