Leadership in Sustainability Awards

The Leadership Institute for Ecology and the Economy, the SEC’s fiscal sponsor since the first conference in 2006, is beginning the tenth year of our core program, Leadership Training for a Sustainable Future. Our mission is to educate and inspire leaders to create public policy that is environmentally friendly and socially equitable for a healthy economy and a sustainable community.

To celebrate our tenth anniversary, we are holding our first Leadership in Sustainability Awards dinner on Saturday, November 7 at the Mary Agatha Furth Center in Windsor. The dinner is designed to recognize and celebrate community leaders who have displayed remarkable achievements in creating socially, economically and environmentally sustainable communities. The event will be a celebration of new ideas and innovative approaches to implementing sustainable practices and will showcase community leaders who are spearheading these efforts. It will also increase general public awareness of the three Es of sustainability and will reach out to a broad cross section of the community in order to build strong alliances between individuals and groups from all sectors.
