Sustainable Food and Agriculture
How can we feed our people without damaging the environment or threatening human health? Local, sustainably run farms, can help protect our health and the health of our communities while stimulating local economies. While industrial farming may negatively impact the environment in myriad ways by polluting the groundwater and adversely affects the health of farm workers, degrades the socioeconomic fabric of surrounding communities small family farms are more likely to spend their dollars in the community while local processing and distribution generates jobs and helps stimulate local economies.
