Leadership Training for a Sustainable Future
Now Accepting Applications for Leadership Training for a Sustainable Future Class of 2011
The Leadership Institute for Ecology and the Economy is now accepting applications for Leadership Training for a Sustainable Future Class of 2011.
This will mark the eleventh year that the training program has been offered. Our course enables participants to become more effective community leaders in their efforts to achieve a sustainable future for California's North Coast region. We offer a challenging curriculum focusing on a broad spectrum of policy issues, as well as content fundamentals in the areas of ecology, social equity, and economic theory. Our classes are taught by local, national, and international experts and include lectures, discussions, exercises, and field trips. The program has been described by many participants as enlightening, invaluable, and essential to informed involvement in local public policy decisions.
Next year's course begins with a class retreat on August 20, 2010. Classes will then be held on the first Friday of each month beginning September 3, 2010, and running through May 6, 2011. The year will conclude with a graduation ceremony on May 20, 2011.
