Prior to joining the Leadership Institute in 2005, Tanya held various IT development, support and management positions with Hewlett-Packard and Agilent Technologies. She is currently the Board Chair for Routes for Youth and is a member of the Pacific Region Advisory Council for the National Parks Conservation Association. She is the Chair of Santa Rosa’s Community Advisory Board and previously served on its Green Building Policy Advisory Committee.In her role as the Chair of Friends of SMART, she works with community leaders from across the North Bay to inform the public of the benefits of rail and smart growth in Marin and Sonoma Counties. She was recently honored by the National Women’s History Project as one of 100 women “Taking the Lead to Save our Planet”. She holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of New Mexico and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
