Dr Thomas Jacobson, JD, MCP, FAICP

Tom Jacobson is a graduate of Hastings College of Law and received a Masters in City Planning from UC Berkeley.  He is Professor of Environmental Studies & Planning and Director of the Center for Sustainable Communities at Sonoma State University.

Among his publications, he wrote the chapters on “Growth Management” and “Aesthetic Regulation and Design Review” in California Land Use Practice (California Continuing Education of the Bar), co-authored Exactions and Impact Fees in California (Solano Press Books), and was principal author of Healthy by Design:  A Public Health and Land Use Planning Workbook (Sonoma County Department of Health Services). He is a member of the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Certified Planners and a member and past president of the California Planning Roundtable.
