Barbara Oldershaw

North Bay Sustainability Advocate

Barbara partners with North Bay enterprises to maximize their sustainability efforts. Current projects focus on agritourism, community engagement, and a thriving local economy. Barbara is a 2014 Fellow of the Leadership Institute for Ecology & the Economy and has participated in the North Bay Climate Adaptation Initiative (NBCAI) since 2015. In 2016, she worked with a Santa Rosa sewing company to prepare them for B Corp certification and launch a product line made from upcycled materials: Sonoma-USA.com. The company was voted “Top Innovator” at the 2016 North Bay Innovation Summit.

Barbara is passionate about mobilizing Sonoma County as a world leader in local solutions that are environmentally sound, economically feasible and socially equitable. Towards this end, she is an active volunteer with the Sonoma County Growers Alliance and the North Coast Public Banking Working Group. Barbara holds a BA in Community Development from UC Berkeley, an MA in Architecture & Urban Planning from UCLA, and is pursuing an MBA in Sustainable Management from the Presidio Graduate School.
