Dr. Tony Silvaggio

Tony Silvaggio is an environmental sociologist at Humboldt State University where he teaches courses on community organizing, ecological sustainability and environmental justice. His current research focuses on the ecological impacts of cannabis agriculture and has been featured in the New York Times, The Atlantic, Rolling Stone, Al Jazeera, and The Nation. Tony is a founding faculty member of the Humboldt State Institute for Interdisciplinary Marijuana Research, and a senior researcher at the Center for the Study of Cannabis and Social Policy.
